Chickens can be found in many idioms, fables and myths. They are seen as loving, nurturing mothers and very social. Preferring a group of their friends to being alone, they are extremely protective of their young and their flock. These wonderful animals have lived beside humans for so long as livestock, but are now seen as so much more. They are lovable quirky little birds that have a place among some of the best pets.
